Chocolate and cherry overnight oats

These chocolate and cherry overnight oats are a great, easy breakfast you can prep the night before for easy weekday breakfasts. Full of goodness and a great flavour with over 10g of fibre per serving (without the toppings!)
Use your imagination with the toppings and go for whatever is in season. I've used cherries and banana here but any seasonal fruit would work.

Chocolate and cherry isn’t just a combination for black forest gateau! Have it for breakfast too and it couldn’t be easier in these chocolate and cherry overnight oats.

Simply soak the night before and wake up a delicious and healthy breakfast.

Adding the linseeds and chia to the oats adds protein, fibre and omega 3s, so don’t miss them out. The cacao and maca powders, are both high in vitamins and minerals and are good for energy levels.

The full list of ingredients is:

  • Oats
  • Ground linseeds (flaxseeds)
  • Chia seeds
  • Non-dairy milk
  • Cacao powder
  • Maca powder, optional

Top fresh cherries, chopped hazelnuts, some sliced banana, banana chips and some puffed quinoa.

But to be honest, you can top with whichever toppings you like.

Give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

These chocolate and cherry overnight oats store really well in the fridge. They’ll last for at about 4 days.

I wouldn’t recommend freezing.

Recipe tips

  • They will last for 3-4 days in the fridge so are great for meal prep.
  • If you prefer a runnier consistency you may want to add more milk before serving.
  • Add any fresh seasonal fruit to top these if you don’t have cherries.
